Evaluation of Sida’s Support to Education: Lessons Learned from 20 Years and Five Countries

Evaluation Brief

A good quality education, one that is inclusive, equitable and non-discriminatory and that equips learners with the knowledge, skills and attributes that will enable them to become responsible, active citizens with sustainable livelihoods and able to thrive in their societies, is a critical step for ensuring the reduction of multidimensional poverty and real gender inclusion. Sida has contributed to the provision of good quality education in multiple instances across countries supported and can take the lessons learned from those experiences and multiply them by ensuring that quality, along with access and management, is carefully aligned with contextual particularities and a central element of all support provided in future.
