Water Education in African Cities - United Nations Human Settlements Program

Sweden has supported a programme on education of water consumers, especially children, in water-related issues through UN Habitat. Seven cities in Africa have been involved; Dakar, Abidjan, Accra, Johannesburg, Lusaka, Nairobi and Addis Abeba. This programme complements other activities on water demand management and improvement of performance in water utilities within the Water for African Cities programme. The evaluation indicates that the programme has been to a large extent successful and has given good value for money.
