The Asian Regional Research Programme in Energy, Environment and Climate - ARRPEEC

The focus of the programme is the interrelated issues of energy use, environmental impacts and climate modification, in Asia. The programme has involved a total of 23 NRIs from China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. The evaluation considers that, after ten years of high-class technical research, there is now a need to revisit the original aims of the Research Programme and prioritize future research directions for the region from within the totality of the research projects. Priority should be given to the most feasible and cost effective options for Green House Gases (GHG) mitigation.
