Swedish Support to a Regional Environmental Journalism and Communication Programme in Eastern Africa for the Period 2002-2006

The evaluation covers four of the initial five years period of support to a regional training programme in environment journalism in Eastern Africa. The evaluation found both programme design and implementation to be in line with development priorities, both in Sweden and the five participating countries. The programme is found to to be effective in its aim to strengthen training capacity. The evaluation document a general satisfaction with the courses, an increased coverage in the media and impressive real-life impact of the community outreach.
