Regional Programme for Environmental and Health Research in Central America

Most of the health studies were successfully published in international refereed journals. On the contrary, several of the environmental studies were not published although some were printed as local university reports. The regional courses were successful and a larger number than granted were arranged. The success of a future regional programme depends on a carefully controlled and stepwise build up of its organisation, with special attention to regionalisation, management, timing of programme activities, and tools for sustainability of a programme.
