Phasing out Ozone Depleting Substances in the Solvent Sector in China

The project was formulated to promote adoption of appropriate ozone depleting substances (ODS) -free and process/resource efficient alternative technologies in the solvent sector in China. The specific objectives were to establish a sustainable mechanism to facilitate the transfer of ODS-free cleaning technology, and to demonstrate the applicability of relevant ODS-free and process/resource efficient technologies in the solvent sector. The project was expected to contribute to the development and implementation of the Sectoral Funding Strategy in the solvent sector in China. A post implementation evaluation indicated that while inputs to the project had been delivered principally as agreed, it concluded that theproject objectives were not met.
