Manejo de Deshechos Sólidos y el Medio Ambiente en Tequcigalpa

In 2001, the two cities started an environmental co-operation project comprising four sub-projects:1. Institutional capacity building and support in waste management, 2.Regulatory supervision programme for industrial waste, 3. Municipal information focussing on solid waste manage-ment and 4. Hospital waste management. The intention of the cooperation was to strengthen Tegucigalpa in its capacities related to management and administration of municipal, industrial and hospital waste, by working with institutional capacity building, information campains and provision of technical advice.
