Sammanfattning
This evaluation takes stock of the results achieved and aims to provide new thinking on the future development of the InternationalScience Programme, a programme run by Uppsala University providing long-term funding to the development of research capacitiesin low income countries in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.A core conclusion from the evaluation is that ISP delivers a significant public good from its support to the development of basicscientific research capacity with the Research Groups and Scientific Networks that it works with. The evaluation recommends ISP to focus on adapting to the shifting landscape in support of science education with new actors andnetworks, greater levels of funding and an increased global emphasis on science and technology. ISP needs to be more strategic inleveraging its distinct contribution to capacity development in this changing landscape. ISP should define clearer horizons for supportto groups and networks, informed by more systematic assessment of baseline conditions and assessment of capacity changes.
