Sammanfattning
PAHAL and NTGCF, both launched in the early 90's to address land degradation and poverty. The point of departure for both the projects was to have innovations in the institutional design at the village level for implementing the projects while in technical terms they focused on soil and water conservation as well as forestry. This evaluation attempts to address the impact of both the projects in terms of policy change and lessons drawn. They include the need for a shared understanding, the need to understand local context and livelihood systems and the special management requirements in pilot projects and method development.
