Handbook for Mainstreaming A Gender Perspective in the Rural Transportation Sector This handbook begins with an overview of some of the gender issues relevant in development co-operation within the rural transportation sector. Issues discussed include gender differences in mobility and access, employment in the sector, impacts of transport interventions, and issues related to transport planning and management. The last sections list questions relevant for Sida staff to pose when working on e.g. sector analysis, project formulation/appraisal, annual reviews and evaluation.
