Evaluation of the Sida supported programmes CLACSO Knowledge for a Sustainable World 2013– 2016 and South-South Tricontinental 2013–2015

This evaluation of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) reviews the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency andsustainability of the work of one of Sida’s longest standing partners, having received support since 1998. Findings demonstrate thatCLACSO is a highly effective institution, and is very relevant to the objectives of Swedish research cooperation in terms of a povertyfocus, developing the capacity of young researchers and innovation, building on close engagement with civil society. A notable shifthas been made in recent years to engaging weaker insti-tutions from Central America in the network. Significant progress has beenmade in enhancing sustainability.
