The [Name protected] is an organisation with a long history of providing research and background information on Afghanistan in what has, in the past, effectively been a vacuum in relation to in-depth, empirically-based analysis. [Name protected] was widely respected for a number of years, but the organisation has been marred by poor management in the last two to three years. This has resulted in uncertainties related to its mandate, strategy and ability to deliver expected results. Irrespectively, the evaluation team still found high degrees of contextual and policy relevance concerning their work, combined with the continued ability to deliver high quality research.
