Sida’s support to United Nations Organisations

In 2022, Sida disbursed SEK 7.98 billion to United Nations (UN) organisations for development cooperation and humanitarian assistance, a third of Sida’s overall support. The main partners to Sida within the UN are UNICEF, UNDP, UN MPTFO, WFP, UNFPA, UN Women, UNOPS, UNOCHA, FAO and UNHCR. The amount disbursed from Sida to UN Agencies decreased by 14 % in 2022 as compared to 2021. This is explained by the government’s financial limitations in the annual letter of appropriation to Sida. The share of Sida’s disbursement to UN agencies for humanitarian assistance increased to 30 % in 2022 compared to 24 % in 2021.
