Sammanfattning
Inclusive and sustainable economic development forms a basis for poverty reduction
in terms of material resources, but it has also important links to other dimensions of
poverty. Sida’s conceptual framework for multidimensional poverty recognises four
dimensions of poverty, namely (i) resources, (ii) opportunities and choice, (iii) power and
voice, and (iv) human security. The purpose of this brief is to highlight the main links between economic development and poverty in these four dimensions and how to integrate economic analysis into the multidimensional poverty analysis (MDPA).
