Transitioning to a net-zero world is one of the greatest challenges humankind has faced; we need emission free and climate resilient societies within a few decades.
A just green transition is not only a technological or economic shift — it is a social transformation: Action is needed now to uphold human rights, address existing inequalities, strengthen democratic governance and ensure that no one is left behind.
And a just transition is not likely to happen by default. Sweden has long experience in navigating this balance with progressive environmental policies, public private partnerships, innovations, social dialogue, strong labour rights, and gender-responsive welfare systems.
