Despite notable socio-economic development in Bangladesh, extreme poverty remains widespread among ethnic and religious minority groups. What dynamics contribute to minorities’ poverty and exclusion and how should they be countered? How can development partners more effectively tackle poverty and discrimination and support social inclusion?

This webinar is about the EBA report Extreme Poverty and Marginalisation in Bangladesh: Drivers and Lessons for Development Cooperation, exploring the multifaceted dimensions of poverty facing minority groups in Bangladesh. The authors will present the main findings of the report, followed by a panel discussion on how development efforts can be designed to more effectively address the needs of the most marginalised.
