Nature-based Solutions – Optimising Benefits and Avoiding Risks

Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are increasingly promoted by various actors to address the interlinked crises of biodiversity loss and climate change. As key features of recent policy frameworks at global and regional levels as well as national level planning, they matter to development cooperation. NbS can play a significant role for poverty reduction by combatting environmental, social, and economic challenges when designed and applied in line with relevant standards and guidance.
