Sida’s biodiversity reporting 2024

A considerable share of Sida’s development cooperation is channeled through multilateral organisations and the EU. Sweden’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs decides on core support to the regular budget of these organisations while Sida manages the main part of the multi-bi support. In 2024, Sida disbursed SEK 12.1 billion through multilateral partners. The support to Ukraine constitutes SEK 2.7 billion of Sida’s multilateral portfolio.

In 2024, Sida disbursed SEK 7.6 billion to United Nations (UN) organisations for development cooperation and humanitarian assistance. This constitutes almost 30 per cent of Sida’s overall portfolio. The support to Ukraine has had a steep increase. Sida’s main UN partners are UNDP, UNICEF, UNOCHA, WFP, UNFPA, UN MPTFO, UN Women, UNHCR, UNESCO and FAO.
