Gender Toolbox

Sida's Gender Toolbox provides knowledge, tools and inspiration on how to operationalize gender equality in Swedish development cooperation. A solid knowledge and method base is more important than ever due to an increased focus on gender equality in development cooperation, in Sweden and globally.

The Gender Toolbox highlights areas where we see a need for thematic method support and guidance. It is not only useful for Sida staff but also for our partners and other stakeholders.

The Gender Tool Box includes three different kinds of materials: Tools, Briefs and Thematic Overviews. The development context is constantly changing, and new priorities arise. Look out for new briefs, tools and thematic overviews as we update the Gender Tool Box.

Tools

The Tools are meant to facilitate the implementation of gender equality in concrete work:

Older tools

These tools have been updated and combined into the document "How Sida works with Gender Equality".

Briefs

The Briefs highlight areas of special interest for gender in development cooperation.

Thematic Overviews

The Thematic Overviews go deeper and elaborate on areas of particular priority.

Normative dialogue on gender equality

Normative dialogue addresses Swedish values and priorities and is part of Sida's global advocacy work for better development results. These briefs provide examples of how normative dialogue has been used.

Evidence

The thematic evidence briefs give an overview of the latest evidence.
