Over 20 million people are in need of humanitarian support in Pakistan in 2025. The country is still suffering from the effects of the 2023 earthquake. Providing people with food, shelter and healthcare is central to Sida's humanitarian work in the country.

The 2022–2023 earthquake has left over 20 million people in need of humanitarian assistance. Many are still living in temporary camps and half of those affected are children. Refugees from Afghanistan are also particularly vulnerable.
Sida’s humanitarian support provides people with access to clean water, food and nutrition, healthcare and shelter.

Pakistan does not have a Swedish country strategy for development cooperation as it is not one of the countries prioritised for development cooperation by the Swedish government. However, Sida implements a small amount of development cooperation through regional or global strategies.
