The situation in Lebanon is characterised by a high degree of political, economic and social instability. The escalating conflict is leading to a sharp deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Lebanon and an increasing number of people are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance.
Lebanon hosts the highest number of displaced people per capita in the world. Many Palestinians and Syrians have fled to Lebanon as a result of war and conflict.
Sida’s humanitarian support provides people with access to clean water, food and nutrition, as well as health care and protection.
Sida works with international humanitarian and civil society organisations, prioritising the people most in need of support.

Lebanon does not have a Swedish country strategy for development cooperation as it is not one of the countries prioritised for development cooperation by the Swedish government. However, Sida implements a small amount of development cooperation through regional or global strategies.
