Food was declared a Human Right by the UN in 1948. Nevertheless, in 2021 the number of people who suffer from hunger increased with over 110 million in one year, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic and conflicts – totaling more than 720 million people. Of those, over 283 million people in 80 countries were acutely food insecure or at high risk of food insecurity1,2 and the number continues to increase.
