Some of them have been forced to flee for the second and third time.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The vast majority are living in temporary, spontaneously established camps in an area with poor access to water, toilets, sewage and waste management.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>In addition to the ongoing conflicts, the situation is further aggravated by extreme poverty, recurrent outbreaks of Ebola, measles and malaria, malnutrition, poor infrastructure and lack of access to basic social services. The country&#8217;s prolonged lack of development and widespread poverty prevent communities, families and individuals from withstanding recurring crises.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The DRC is also home to over half a million people who have fled the Central African Republic and Rwanda.
