Summary
A report in the Sida Studies series. An attached CD illustrates the discussions of the twelve contributors on the role and potential of music in Africa, both as a force in itself and as part of the development agenda. The discussions embrace issues of economic growth, intellectual property rights, media, censorship, globalisation, education, tradition, modernity and extend over issues of oppression of women, culture and human rights.
