Evaluation of the Sida funded cooperation project aimed at strengthening the Public Defenders Office, the independent National Human Rights Institution in Georgia. The Public Defenders Office has cooperated with the Raoul Wallenberg Institute in Lund, Sweden since 1999 and Sida commissioned an evaluation of the project as a basis of decision for continued funding. The evaluation covers the effectiveness and results of the Public Defenders Office work, its influence on the situation of human rights in the country and the public opinion of the institution. It also covers the relevance and short term results of the project.
