Plats: Sida, Valhallavägen 199, Stockholm (Hörsalen)

Välkommen till ett Development Talk om krisen i Europa och om de nya utmaningar vi står inför för att försvara demokrati och mänskliga rättigheter i regionen.

Invitation:

The crisis in Europe is not temporary, but is likely to remain for unforeseeable time. The European institutions that were built to avoid new wars have not been able to prevent the conflict in Ukraine or found a common solution to the refugee crisis. It seems more important than ever to address the huge challenges to overcome threats and to consolidate democratic security across the continent.

This Development Talks will discuss the way forward towards greater protection of democracy and human rights in Europe. Will the Council of Europe have a leading role to play? How can cooperation be reinforced when the European economy is declining? The conflict in Ukraine, the war in Syria, and other conflicts have resulted in a huge number of people seeking refuge in European countries. What can we do to better share responsibility for accepting refugees?

The registration form is now closed.
