Access to information technology has become crucial for development and an expectation for many in our globalised world. But half of the world’s population, mostly women in developing countries, is still left offline.

Shut-downs, censorship and harassment online severely restrict people’s right to online presence and to exercise their power. Digital exclusion is an economic and social inequality, while the use of ICT boosts national productivity and meets people’s economic and social needs.

The empowering benefits of access to the Internet will be discussed and analyzed at this Development Talk targeting political, economic and social aspects of power. Welcome to a very relevant and interesting seminar, arranged before the Stockholm Internet Forum 2017 www.stockholminternetforum.se

The event is free of charge. Please register here by Friday 12th of May.
