Swedish Health Forum in South Africa - from point of view of the Swedish Partner

Sida Decentralised Evaluations (Sida Review)
Staffan Engblom
The Swedish- South African Health Forum was launched in 2003 in order to facilitate and stimulate enhanced and broad-based cooperation between South Africa and Sweden in the field of public health for the benefit of both countries. Cooperation was initiated within the priority areas HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis and other communicable diseases, reproductive health and rights, health sector reform, health promotion and health impact assessment and injury prevention. The evaluation raises questions regarding the planning, implementation and monitoring of this early trial of actor-driven cooperation.
