Phasing-out Swedish Health Support in Luanda, Angola
Kajsa Pehrsson , Kenneth Challis , Tazi Maghema
This is an evaluation of Sida's support to the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) programmes in Luanda province 2004-2006. This was the last support that Sweden gave to the health sector in Angola and therefore charactarized as a "phasing-out" support. The aim of the evaluation in turn was to study the phasing-out process and its effects on the sustainability of the MCH programmes. The study is rather unique in the sense that it was organised in three steps where field visits to Luanda were made on three different occasions from April 2006 to April 2007, i.e. directly in connection with the closing of the support in march 2006, after six months (Nov 2006) and one year after closing. This evaluation can be seen a s a complement to Sida Evaluation 07/50.
