The training of journalists in Central and Eastern Europe
Tiina Meri , Börje Wallberg
During the first half of 1998, as requested by the Swedish Government, Sida outlined its strategy for support to Central and Eastern Europe for the next three year period, 1991 to 2001. This strategy is partly based on appraisals made of Swedish support for the period 1995-1997 to the three Baltic states and on an ongoing appraisal of support to Russia for the same period. In order to obtain a more comprehensive picture of the support for one selected are, Sida decided to make an in-depth evaluation of Swedish support for the training of journalists from countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
