Nimal Sanderatne , Jan S. Nilsson
The research co-operation consists of eight projects. The objectives of these are to create and strengthen research capacity in areas of high relevance and priority to Sri Lanka. The programme also aims at promoting research co-operation between institutions in the two countries. The purpose of the evaluation is to assess to what extent SAREC's research programme for Sri Lanka has achieved its objectives. The evaluation focuses onthe period 1994-1996. It is based on a review of the national research organisation in Sri Lanka including a survey of the projects receiving support from SAREC overthe period 1987-1994. The review had been prepared by the Sri Lanka Centre for Development studies.
