Country Economic Report

This Integrated Economic Analysis (IEA) study points to four main related constraints to pro-poor growth in Burkina Faso. 1) Its landlockness, facing high trade costs. 2) The need for rural development and increase in agricultural productivity. 3) The significant changes in climate which requires adaptation of farmers and the resilience of rural households. 4) The need to translate economic growth into tangible poverty reduction through a more pro-poor macroeconomic policy stance.
