Financing technology for new markets
Are you looking to introduce your proven and sold technical solution to a new market? Or, is your organisation looking to import technology that’s new and innovative to your country?
The Demo Environment programmes have since 2007 supported the exchange of knowledge and business opportunities to make a difference in the fight against poverty and environmental challenges. The fifth call for applications is now open until 4 March with the possibility to send in a concept note and receive feedback before 14 February. Countries eligible for funding are the following:
Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Bolivia, Colombia, Guatemala, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Serbia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
The programme offers two types of financing: Planning Grants are awarded to help entrepreneurs explore new markets and research their technology’s impact on the environment and poverty reduction. In Demonstration Projects, local actors receive financing to help them import technologies which offer solutions to local environmental challenges.
The programme’s emphasis is on cleantech products, systems, processes, and services which offer clear advantages over competing solutions in the following focus areas:
- Climate change adaption/mitigation
- Ecosystem services
- Renewable energy
- Water and sanitation
- Urban development
