Kristian Berg Harpviken , Ananda S. Millard , Kjell E Kjellman , Arne Strand
This report considers the contributions of the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) to Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) and examines a set of issues fundamental to understanding mine action from the perspective of social and economic impact. The study is based on evidence drawn from seven countries, including field visits, interviews, community studies, and document and literature reviews. The role and implication of impact assessment are reviewed, and a comparison is made of four different approaches to assessing social impact.
