The Asian Regional Research Programme in Energy, Environment and Climate (ARRPEEC) was conceived in 1993 and the first three-year programme was carried out from 1994 to 1997. The programme aims at improving the understanding of energy, environment and climate (EEC) issues among researchers and policy makers in Asian developing countries through a centrally coordinated, regional effort to build policy-oriented research capacity, with involvement of researchers and institutions in the region. The programme is managed by the Energy Programme of the School of Environment, Resources and Development at the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, Thailand.
