The purpose of the evaluation has been to evaluate to what extent, and under what circumstances (in what country contexts), general budget support is relevant, efficient and effective for achieving sustainable impacts on poverty reduction and growth.
It has been a joint evaluation with 28 different donor agencies, development banks and partner governments under the OECD/DAC network on development evaluation. The case study countries are Burkina Faso, Malawi, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Rwanda, Uganda and Vietnam.
