The PRS Process and the Effectiveness of Aid
Geske Dijkstra, Kristin Komives
Evaluation of the Poverty Reduction Strategies in Latin America – 2007 / After studying the countries intensively for five years, we are in a good position to be able to answer the qualitative questions about how the PRS process has contributed to changes in aid and in the commitment and capacity of governments to reduce poverty. This regional report presents a summary of the results in the three countries and puts them in the context of the changes in aid worldwide. It also presents a summary of empirical studies that have already been conducted on the effects of program modalities on the efficiency and effectiveness of aid. In this way, it is possible to reach stronger conclusions about the possible effects of future changes in aid modalities in the three countries.
