Sida's Policy for Trade-Related Development Cooperation
This new policy for trade-related development cooperation forms part of Sida's efforts to help create conditions that will enable poor people to improve their lives. Trade-related development cooperation has an important role to play, as it can enhance developing countries' possibilities to benefit from trade to pursue sustainable poverty-reducing development. The Policy is primarily intended to meet a need within Sida for an instrument to assist in decision-making on support to trade policy and trade development. A separate background document and six "Trade Briefs", which together provide an introduction to the main issues of trade and development and their linkages, were also produced during the preparation of the Policy.
