Humanitarian assitance in armed conflicts with A children's rights perspective
The Swedish government has increased its focus on children regarding Swedish development co-operation. All development cooperation shall be given a children's rights perspective through effective monitoring and implementation of the Convention on children's rights. Swedish humanitarian assistance shall promote the respect for the rights of the children and contribute to meeting all the needs of children. This paper describes the support which children are entitled to and which is necessary to meet their fundamental needs in armed conflicts and during the reconstruction phase. It constitutes a part of a wider strategy on the conflict prevention role of humanitarian assistance.
