The Montreal Protocol - Guidelines for the Swedish Bilateral Programme
The ozone layer depletion is a global environmental problem, demanding action in all countries. In the "Montreal Protocol on Substances that deplete the Ozone Layer", nations around the world has therefore agreed to phase out the production and consumtion of ozone depleting substances as soon as possible. A Multilateral Fund has been established to cover "agreed incremental costs" and technical assisstance to developing countries. Up to 20% of the contributions to the Fund can be used for bilateral cooperation cooperation. Sida, together with the Swedish Environment Protection Agency, SEPA, has developed these guidelines for a Swedish Bilateral Programme under the
Montreal Protocol, which has been agreed upon by the Swedish Government.
