    The poverty level in Rwanda has decreased from 56.7 to 44.9 per cent in the last five years and the extreme income poverty has gone down to 24 per cent. This means that Rwanda has reached its national target for poverty reduction, and the country’s exceptional development can rather be compared to that of China and Thailand than to its African neighbouring states.

    Ten years ago corruption was frequent in Georgia. Through dedicated efforts, certain public services today are considered basically free of corruption. Representatives from the World Bank presented the success story and a new book on this theme at a seminar held at Sida.

International Training Programmes

As part of Sida's work with capacity and institutional development Sida offers international training programmes (ITP) for participants from low-and middle-income countries in priority areas. ITP's methodology takes account of the desire to develop and reform that the participants' organization have expressed in their application to the program.
