Hard Rain: Whole Earth? is the answer to a request from the thousands of visitors of the exhibition that presents solutions to the challenges that was illustrated in the exhibition Hard Rain. While the Hard Rain is about our collision with nature, highlights the exhibition Hard Rain: Whole Earth? the need to ensure coherence between human and natural systems.

Hard Rain: Whole Earth?
- to create harmony between humans and nature

The exhibition has been produced for display in connection with the Rio + 20, the UN Conference on sustainable development in June 2012. Important progress has been made in the area since the first environmental conference in Stockholm in 1972, but the exhibition shows that many of these solutions have not yet been put into service to the extent that is required.

Hard Rain: Whole Earth? developed by photographer Mark Edwards and related texts written by author Lloyd Timberlake, who reported on the environment and development issues from more than 60 countries. The exhibition presents proven solutions from countries around the world highlighting technologies, development projects and the lifestyles that we must take with us to create a sustainable civilization.

The exhibition is designed to renew the quest for solutions among the general public and to encourage politicians and business leaders to take bold and long-term decisions required in order to safeguard our future.

Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), has funded an exhibition tour to university cities throughout Sweden. In the Swedish version of the exhibition contains newly produced images that also illustrates the Swedish project for sustainable development locally and globally.
