As early as 1972, Sida established a centre for developing countries with a focus on training in Ådalen, Sweden at Sida Sandö. In 2001, Sida Sandö closed and the training programme moved to Härnösand, Sweden. As the Sida Civil Society Center, the programme offered training courses to civil society organisations.
In 2009, its mandate was expanded and the centre was renamed to Sida Partnership Forum. Since then, we have welcomed representatives from business, government, the public sector and academia, as well as from civil society organisations. We are also increasingly active in international contexts, and help arrange conferences that are open to individuals.
