Sida and procurements – how it works

Swedish development aid policy is constantly changing. And so is Sida’s way of working. Today, few procurements take place under Sida’s management as many of the countries that Sida assists with funding take responsibility for the procurements themselves. Procurements are advertised in Kommers Annons.

Sida Procurement Guidelines

The Sida Procurement Guidelines, SPG, are a set of rules that Sida uses during contacts with international cooperation partners. Sida also uses the guidelines when the procurement regulations in a partner country do not meet Sida’s requirements.

International Training Programmes

As part of Sida's work with capacity and institutional development Sida offers international training programmes (ITP) for participants from low-and middle-income countries in priority areas. ITP's methodology takes account of the desire to develop and reform that the participants' organization have expressed in their application to the program.
