Working conditions

Labour conditions and human rights in companies

Published: Monday, June 22, 2009

Changed: Tuesday, April 27, 2010

In some countries there is still much to be done when it comes to working environments and human rights. Sida attempts to persuade authorities and governments to legislate on this issue, as well as to check that the laws are being adhered to.

Sida also supports the LO-TCO Secretariat of International Trade Union Development Cooperation, which represents two Swedish trade union organisations, and its cooperation with trade unions in other countries. The secretariat produces a report each year on labour conditions around the world.
