Sida’s cooperation partners and other organisations also run meetings, seminars and networks, which may be of interest for a company working in or trading with countries where a considerable proportion of the population lives in poverty.

The Swedish Trade Council is represented in around 60 countries around the world, and has well-established networks and contact points in each country. Contact the council’s local branches to find out more about which forums and networks they can recommend. They also organise meetings and seminars in Sweden.

Swedfund provides venture capital for projects in poor countries but also works with skills development at Swedish companies. This includes both seminars and meetings. You will find a calendar, and more information about what’s happening at Swefund's website.

Swecare is a network that aims to develop international business within the area of healthcare and medical treatment, as well as life sciences. At Swecare, representatives from the business community, public sector, organisations and research community meet and work together.

The Association of Swedish Chambers of Commerce is a network for Swedish companies that offers meeting places and an opportunity to exchange knowledge to business communities in different regions across Sweden. On its website you will find links and contact details for Swedish chambers of commerce around the world.

Swedish Consultants is a professional organisation for small and medium-sized companies in various industries. The organisation promotes the use of Swedish consultants to international financing institutions as well as sponsors of international projects and development aid. The group’s dialogue with Sida takes place at one large meeting and four to five smaller meetings every year.

Svensk Projektexport, SPE, is a professional organisation for major companies that are capable of delivering entire projects within the telecommunications or energy industries, for example. SPE’s dialogue with Sida occurs at three to four main meetings a year, or more frequently, as required. Svensk Projektexport’s chairman, Jan-Inge Gidlund can be contacted via .

Swedish Association for UN Business, SWEUNB, is a network that focuses on strengthening the position of companies in the UN procurement process. SWEUNB organises seminars, training sessions and meetings between Swedish companies and UN organisations. They also provide news about and offer collective marketing of Swedish products and services. The Swedish Trade Council and Ministry for Foreign Affairs provide active support to the group.

International Training Programmes

As part of Sida's work with capacity and institutional development Sida offers international training programmes (ITP) for participants from low-and middle-income countries in priority areas. ITP's methodology takes account of the desire to develop and reform that the participants' organization have expressed in their application to the program.
