The Practitioner Hub

New Practitioner Hub is launched

Published: Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Changed: Wednesday, June 27, 2012

A new and improved Practitioner Hub for inclusive business is being launched the 26th of June. Jointly managed by the Business Innovation Facility and Innovations Against Poverty, this online community provides a virtual space for practitioners to share experiences and gain the practical knowledge they need to help their inclusive business ventures grow.

The Practitioner Hub was established by the Business Innovation Facility in 2010 (click on link in the purple box). It is a programme supported by the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) as a pilot from 2010 to 2013. It provides advisory support to companies developing inclusive business in 5 countries (Malawi, Zambia, Nigeria, Bangladesh and India) and it hosts the Practitioner Hub.

Innovations Against Poverty and the Business Innovation Facility both aim to support companies to take up inclusive business models, while providing facilitative support in slightly different ways. The two programmes have similar objectives for signposting partners to inclusive business information and sharing lessons that emerge from their work supporting inclusive business. We are also aware of the requests from companies to avoid duplication and multiple sources of information, and the desire of our donors to strengthen donor collaboration on private sector development. Hence we believe that objectives can be most efficiently achieved by pooling resources to further develop the one online site.

To complement the information about Innvations Against Poverty found on the web-pages here, we recommend that you join the Practitioner Hub for further material related to inclusive business development.
