Published: Tuesday, March 06, 2012

Changed: Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Innovations Against Poverty is now increasing funding and outreach to support inclusive business projects in the Middle East and North Africa. Enhanced access to clean water and projects aiming at unemployed youth are some of the focus areas.

Innovations Against Poverty launched its global programme in 2011 and a year on it is extending its outreach in the MENA region, starting with local launches in Cairo and Amman in March. Here, the programme will specifically encourage sustainable business ventures focusing on:

• efficient water resources management and solutions contributing to enhanced access to clean water

• youth unemployment

• regional economic development, which can for example be demonstrated by working with partners in more than one country

The criteria for eligible organisations and instructions for applying are the same for anyone applying for grants from Innovations Against Poverty. Information material in Arabic can be downloaded from this page (see purple box to the right). Further information and application forms for grants and guarantees are available on the page How to apply and in the FAQ section. Please note that applications should be submitted in English.

Innovations Against Poverty has two application cycles for grants per year. The next deadline to submit grant applications is November 2012. Applications for guarantees can be submitted at any time.
