Hundreds of companies apply for Sida funding

Innovations Against Poverty attracted well over 230 companies when the second application round came to a close end of November. Through the programme, companies can get financial support and advice on inclusive business models.

Collaboration - examples and principles

In the project Better Cotton Initiative, the World Wide Fund for Nature and international voluntary organisations work in collaboration with major companies such as Adidas, H&M, Gap and IKEA. A new cluster collaboration has been started with the Geological Survey of Sweden, SGU, as leading operator and Sida as financier. DemoMiljö (DemoEnvironment), which Sida started a couple of years ago, in 2009 granted support to fifteen companies for pilot projects in Europe, Asia and Africa.

The World Business and Development Awards launch a call for nominations for successful business initiatives that are in line with the Rio+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development. All organisations engaged in innovative business models that are delivering both commercial success and development impact are eligible to apply by 25th March 2012.

Sweden's aid - open and internationally comparable

Openaid.se is a web-based information service about Swedish aid built on open government data. The data is published according to the international IATI-standard, which means that it is freely available and compatible with data from other countries and donors.

International Training Programmes

As part of Sida's work with capacity and institutional development Sida offers international training programmes (ITP) for participants from low-and middle-income countries in priority areas. ITP's methodology takes account of the desire to develop and reform that the participants' organization have expressed in their application to the program.
