ICT for empowerment of women and girls

Sida invites civic organisations and other relvant actors to apply for funding, for initiatives where information and communications technology is being used to increase women's and girls use and access to ICT in developing countries.

Final decisions can be expected before the end of March, 2013.

 

Due to misunderstandings regarding where and how applications should be submitted we  extended the deadline to Monday, October 22 at 08.00 CEST. Please notice that we do not accept any applications by email. Please submit your proposal through our digital application system which you find here: http://ams.orbelon.com/039/.  Annex 1-4 are guidelines and should not be attached to your application. All the requested information should be inserted directly into Orbelon along with attached proof of registration, audit report and management letter.

This call rendered a total of 300 proposals that are currently under assessment. The first step of the assessment process will be finalized by the end of 2012, when all applicants will be notified whether or not their proposals has proceeded to the second and final stage of selection. Final decisions can be expected before the end of March, 2013.

 

The specific objective of this call for proposals is to increase socio-economic equality between women and men by ensuring equal access to technology and equal opportunities for men, women, boys and girls to use ICT in an open society. The indicative financial envelope foreseen for this call for proposals is SEK 30 000 000-50 000 000, and will be granted to approximately 5 applicants. Sida does not have a specified budget amount suggested for each proposal and the size of awarded grants may vary.

This call for proposals is linked to the Swedish Government’s Strategy for Capacity Development and Collaboration 2011-2013. This strategy aims to support the provision of good skills and high capacity among various actors to facilitate the effective use of, and access to, Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D).

Only Full Project Applications should be submitted for evaluation. Find more information in these following documents: the Full Application Form  and its annexes 1, 2,3 and 4. Also, it is most important to read the guidelines carefully, (See green box to the right for all related information, but remember application is not made through these documents.)

Submission of application is now closed. All applications should be made through our digital application system.

Deadline for submission of applications was extended until October 22, 2012.

Only applications for projects to be implemented starting year 2012 or 2013 and ending no later than 31 December 2014 will be considered.
